A Bark in the Park is run by husband and wife team Susie and John Duff.
Facing a crossroads in her professional career, Susie was asked what her ideal job would be. “If someone would pay me to play with dogs all day…” That was the genesis of A Bark in the Park. After a few years dog-walking for other companies, Susie founded A Bark in the Park in 2009. John jumped at the chance to join a few months later.
Through our 18+ years of marriage, we have always been a multi-dog household. We adore our dogs. We pamper them. We vacation with them. And we sing them little songs. They are family. So while we may have learned a trick or three about wrangling puppers in the great outdoors, our guiding principle and greatest strength remains the love we feel for our own dogs. Because we know you feel the same way about your dog(s) as we do about ours.
Dogs thrive on routine. And so day after day, week after week, and year after year, we will be there for them. We have no employees. When you meet us, you will be meeting your dog’s caregivers for many years to come. You will come to find that we are always happy to talk dogs; about behavior and health and vets and dog coats and what to do if you adopt another dog and…
This isn’t a “service” we provide, it’s just dog-lovers swapping stories and experiences, but since we know a lot of dogs, we have quite a few of them. In short, we strive to be more than just a dog-walker, but rather a fresh set of eyes and a sounding board to help you give your pup the best possible life. The way we feel about the dogs we walk goes way beyond a client relationship; we care very deeply about their health and overall well-being.
